Should we say no to war

In the aftermath of the Pulwama attacks, airstrikes and return of the AirForce's Wing Commander Abhinandan and killing of some more soliders by Pakistan/terrorists, I have been seeing a lot of posts speaking strongly asking for war.

Although I will not reject the seemingly jinghostic demand in the libertarian fashion: You should go to war rather than cheering. (I can't, peace-loving brother, it is only army that has been given a power and I can't change my career in the middle of the night. But that does not do away with my right to have an opinion).

Yet I will request you to consider the consequences of a full-blown war towards Pakistan. The apparent democratic government of Pakistan will lose whatever little power it has and all power will move into the hands of military. The military will not feel bound by any rules of wars and international conventions and have I even started on the point of nuclear power?

A full-fledged war will definitely attract international sanctions. We are not Russia or US that sanctions would not affect us. We are a heavily trade dependant economy and sanctions will lead to loss in revenue, jobs and would lead to a lot of political, economic and civil unrest.

Saying that, I believe the air-strikes were justified. We need to show our neighbours that we are capable of playing offence in times of need. This is more important for our relations with China, who has been growing phenomenally in the world economy since Xi-JingPing's reign.

The government seems to have stopped after the airstrikes and it is justified.

And those who were praising Air Force and do not want to attribute to the government, are requested to consider you can't have such actions without a political leadership. Give credit where it's due. Otherwise you are no different than the hardcore BJP supporters whose support for Modi is backed by sole emotion and nothing else or worse the paid IT trolls who praise the government for a living and not democracy.
